Gaining Experience Outside the Classroom
I was told once that I would find close friends and likeminded individuals if I join my school's chapter of the American Advertising Federation club. And they were not lying, I have found other students who think like me, who love advertising as much as me, and I have also found life long friends. But all that is not why I stayed, my advertising club gives me an opportunity I could receive nowhere else.

The Madison American Advertising Federation, now know as Scratch Pad, gave me the ability to work on integrated marketing campaigns for real companies. Every year we received a new client and new challenges. With every client and challenge, I learn more about adverting and added upon the knowledge I gain in the classroom. In club meetings, we put what we were reading in textbooks into action.

In 2019, I was one of our campaign presenters during the National Student Advertising Competition. During this experience, I learned how to present my ideas to superiors in a professional manner. I loved presenting so much I am going to do it again at this year's competition! This year I am a part of the executive board as Media Director. I learned so much on how to research for media buying and how to budget for campaigns. My time in the club was valuable because I gained experience in knowledge for all aspects of campaigns, which broads my overall was of thinking of advertising and marketing.

During my senior year, I was elected Executive Copywriter. I adored the role because I got to explore my writing style and learn how to adapt copy for certain media. You can see my writing in the Tinder Campaign - every word written in the plansbook is from me!
