Magazine Spread
What the Process Was
While designing this magazine spread, I wanted to play into the topic of the article, schooling. I decided that to use a traditional color scheme of red, yellow, and blue because the primary colors always remind me of school. The bold blocks of colors are supposed to help catch the readers' attention as they flip through the magazine, and the column layout is to help the text easy to read. I wanted to somehow tie together the traditional colors with the abstract COVID drawings I created. To blend the two design elements, I turned the opacity down of the COVID drawings and used them to add texture to the blocks of color.
